| The air transportation industry of China has been growing rapidly since the reform and opening up in 1978. With the accelerating process of modernization of socialism and globalization, China is striving to become one of the leading nations in airline industry. One big problem that Chinese airlines need to solve for a long time is the conflict between the advanced transporting capacity and the backward airline management. The progress, quality, efficiency and revenues of air transportation industry depend on the level of modern management. For airlines aircraft-team planning is vital and it is the key of their policies. As one of the six biggest airlines in China, China Northern Airlines (CNA) develops fast since it was founded ten years ago. Like other principal airlines, CNA turns into a steadily growing period from the previous high-speed expanding period. Due to high expectation of the market, CNA brought in more airplanes than the market demands in "1996-2000" plan. The relative overproduction resulted in the waste of transport power and the decrease of assets value. CNA have been facing the dilemma of slipping revenue since 1997.The thesis will predict and analyze the scale of the company's aircraft-team in a foresight view. Under the condition that the size is set, it makes an economic analysis and technological comparison about matching airplanes with routes, to make a feasible scheme of "2001-2005" aircraft-team planning. The thesis also pays attention to the combination of theory and practice. By using real cases and statistics of Civil Aviation and China Northern Airlines, CNA's "2001-2005" aircraft-team planning scheme is proposed after studying last aircraft-team plan of CNA.Now China's air transportation industry has entered an era of buyer's market. Facing great challenges from the market, making full use of resources and improving the network is one important and efficient way to increase revenues. A better aircraft-team-planning scheme will help CNA well positioned to compete in the world. |
