Association For Science System Status And Development Strategies

This thesis gives a brief introduction to the nature, features, functions and management of scientific associations, as well as the knowledge-based economy and the national innovative system. I t also explains why the scientific associations are inconspicuous, low-standing and insignificant in society.Both the scientific associations and the national innovative system are based on the flow of knowledge, that is, the exchange of knowledge by the scientists within the system so as to promote the development of the society.In view of the national expectation for the scientific associations, the objective demand by the national innovative system and the features of the scientific associations, the scientific associations should develop with the following strategic aims: 1 .To be part of the party抯 mass work; 2. To be part of the national scientific work; 3. To be part of the national consultative work; 4. To be part of the social agency.Considering the developmental strategies of the scientific associations, this thesis puts forward two basic strategies: the reform and development of the scientific associations. This thesis also puts forward the measures to promote academic activities, the steps to popularize science, the ways to bring into full play the scientific associations, and new insight into the continuing education.
