With the emerge of modern state, the living space of border of ethnic minorities was separated by national boundary. So the border of ethnic minorities take a vary degrees of cross-frontier. The cross-border national sense of identity was affect by ethnic identity and national identity, because of the uniqueness of identity attributes and the socio-economic marginalization. Our country has many national minorities. China also borders many countries, such as North Korea, Russia, India, Vietnam, Laos, Burma and so on. Transnational ethnic groups in our country is a huge group, has a huge impact on the stability of our country’s frontier society.Cross-border ethnic groups living along the borders between China and Vietnam have commonness as well as some differences compared with other cross-border ethnic groups. They have a unique of geo-consciousness which adapt to their habitats, this is their long-term adaptation of the political and economic environment in the Sino-Vietnam Border. This study attempts to choose geo-consciousness as the breakthrough point to research daily lives of cross-border ethnic groups in the perspective of regionalism.In the shape and developing of nationality, the unique natural and social environment play important role. The boundary geo-consciousness of cross-border ethnic groups living in Yunnan and Vietnam is more liquid. On the one hand, the stark contrast between China and Vietnam has always existed because of various different frontier policies, and Chinese boundary residents have a strong national identity; on the other hand, the ethnic tradition of cross-border ethnic groups is still kept in.In the process of Frontier governance should be adhere to the development of regionalism and humanism principle. We should fully consider the overall demand of cross-border ethnic groups. And the government carries out preferential policies on an area-by-area basis. Besides, the government should mobilize their enthusiasm for the maintenance of social stability in the border areas.
