Tajiks are one of the most acient ethnic groups in Central Aisa area.Due to historical and realistic reasons,Tajiks become cross-border ethnicity which makes up the main population of Tajikstan and Afghanistan.The number of Tajik population ranks in the second place in Afghanistan and even bigger than the number of Tajik population in Tajikistan. In 2012 there are 8.21 million Tajiks in Afghanistan which make up about a quarter of the population of the country.In contrast,6.44 million Tajiks make up more than seventy percents of the population of Tajikistan and about 1.2 million Tajiks live in Uzbekistan and thouthands in China.Tajiks can be classified into two types,Plain Tajiks and Alpine Tajiks.The latter mainly reside in China.In Afghanistan Tajiks have a wide distribution in Kabul, Mazar-i-Sharif, Herat, Ghazni, Badakhshan, Bhamo and other places. Although Tajiks are not the primary ethnics in Afghanistan, they are playing a pivotal role in the development of historical and modern Afghanistan and become more and more indispensible in Afghanistan reconstruction process in the future. The relationship between Tajik and dominant ethics Pashtun in Afghanistan continues to affect the state relation with other countries and social stability, especially the relationship between Tajikistan and Afghanistan. Afghanistan shares a long border line with Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Turkimenstan.So as the transportation hub in Central and South Asia, the security and stability of Tajikistan and Afghanistan are bound to play an important influence on peace in this whole region.Tajiks reside in Tajikistan and Afghanistan share the same consanguinity with Tajiks in China. In addition Tajikistan and Afghanistan are contiguous to China. So the attention and research on the cross-border ethnic Tajiks will not only have some realistic meaning for the relationship between Tajikistan and Afghanistan, but also relates to the stability of China’s northwest frontier, the security of Sinkiang Region, and the peace and development of our whole country.This dissertation includes introduction, main body and conclusion.Chapter1,Introduction.This Chapter describes the research significance, definition of relevant concepts, reserch review, research method and innovations of this topic.Chapter2, Main body.The main body includes three parts, and explores the history and current situation, national identity,state identity, impact on geopolitical security of the cross-border ethnicity Tajik distributed in Tajikistan and Afghanistan.Part 1:This part traces the formation history of the cross-border ethnicity Tajikon the basis of historical records, then describes the geopolitical security and practical characteristics of the cross-border ethnicity Tajik in Tajikistan and Afghanistan, and then analyzes the multidimensional and instructional preference of national relations of the cross-border ethnicity Tajik.Part 2:Based on the field survey results, this part analyzes the national identity and ethnic dentity of the cross-border ethnicity Tajik, the epochal feature and the intergenerational features of these identity.Part 3:Combining with the research result of first and second parts and the development of the current international situation, this part analyzes the influence of cross-border ethnicity Tajiks in Central and South Asia geopolitical security.Chapter 3,Conclusion.The conclusion part summarizes the characteristics and status of the cross-border ethnicity Tajik in Tajikistan and Afghanistan, generalizes and analyze Tajik’s role in the region development, meanwhile promotes the reconstruction of Afghanistan effectively using the kinship between Tajikistan and Afghanistan, and then proposes proper suggestions on how to avoid the negative influence on regional security which derives from the cross-border ethnicity.
