A Study On Women 's Political Participation In China' S Social Transformation

Currently, China is in a period of social transformation, with the rapid development of economic, people’s living standards have improved significantly. At the same time, the original pattern was broken, the hot social issues continued to increase. The issue of gender equality, as one of the hot social issues, has existed for a long time in many countries of the world and has not been solved very well. With the deepening development of China’s reform, the status of women is constantly increasing, and women political participation issues have attracted more and more attention.Marxist theory keeps its pace with the times, while, the Marxist theory of women as an important part of Marxist theory, is an evolving theoretical system. Political participation of women is an important dimension to measure a national’s women liberation and progress of social civilization. The basic situation of our country is that we still in the primary stage of socialism and will be in it for a long time. Women’s political participation must progress with the development of the times. Increasing of women political participation level is a concrete manifestation of the superiority of socialism and is the inherent requirement to promote the reform of the political system and the development of socialist democratic politics in China. The Decision on Major Issues Concerning Comprehensively Deepening Reforms adopted at the close of the Third Plenary Session of the 18 th CPC Central Committee proposed that "pay more attention to improve the democratic system, enrich the forms of democracy, from various levels and in various fields to expand citizens’ orderly political participation, give full play to the superiority of the socialist political system" is timely. In the practice of deepening the reform and development, China’s women political participation has achieved some progress and developments. The concept of equality between men and women wins support among the people; the consciousness of women political participation enhances; the number of women political participation grows; the protection system of women political participation has also been initially established. Although great achievements have been made, in the practice of female political participation, there are still shortcomings. In our country, the overall situation of the citizen political participation is not optimistic, especially when there is no interest exits, the initiative and enthusiasm of the political participation is more difficult to appear, among them, women political participation has more irrational, passive, formally and utilitarian problems. The reason is not only because the women’s own political quality is not high and political participation awareness is not strong, but also including the security of the women political participation is weak and the women economic position in society is relatively low.In this paper, we try to explore China’s women political participation issues in social transformation further from the gender perspective. In the period of social transformation, to further promote the women political participation, we need to improve the consciousness and ability of political participation of women, guide the orderly political participation of women, and enhance the influence and effect of women political participation, improve the status of women in social and economic life. Look into the twenty-first century, China’s women political participation will step into a new stage in the leadership of the Party and the government.
