Qiubai The Minsheng Thought

Being a great proletarian politician, revolutionist and theorist, Qu Qiubai was thought as the pioneer of the sinicization of Marxist thought of the people's livelihood. During the war—ridden years, he not only persisted in pursuing some methods to save the country and people, but also devoted all his energy to Chinese liberation and independence. Inheriting splendid traditional Chinese culture and studying the basic tenets of Marxism, Qu Qiubai formed his own thought of the people's livelihood which aimed at the basic needs of workers'jobs and farmers'lands, at the foundation of the mass education, under the guarantee of national security.Based on the conditions of Chinese revolution, Qu Qiubai's thought of the people's livelihood is a comprehensive theoretical and scientific system with abundant content. Through a systematic analysis of the content, this paper makes a systematic study of his thought from its forming process, basis content, historical role and realistic meaning.Firstly, it begins with the forming process and characteristics of Qu's thought. Based on the thought of people being fundamental of traditional Chinese culture, under the guidance of Marxist thought of the people's livelihood, Qu Qiubai, integrating the realistic situation of saving country and people, developed what was useful and discarded what was not about Sun Yat-sen's thought. Then he formed his specific thought, which combined theory with practice, mixed with diverse thoughts of the people's livelihood, and possessed revolutionary character with a particular intellectual and scholar's feature.Secondly, it focuses on the basic content of his thought of the people's livelihood. It is CCP's historical missions and elementary responsibilities to take care of workers'livelihood, guarantee their living condition, preserve their profits, help the unemployment, stress the social insurance, and direct the union work. Anti-tax and access to lands are important ways to solve farmers'problem and advance the development of Chinese revolution. The potential power of making people's livelihood better is to improve educational institutions, formulate the educational laws, improve educational systems, reform educational methods, and develop different activities of education. In order to completely solve the problem of people's livelihood, it is necessary to strengthen the building of army, to establish the united front, to safeguard the national integrity of sovereignty, and to fight for national independence.Finally, it highlights the historical role and realistic meaning of Qu Qiubai's thought about the people's livelihood by comparing with Marxist, Sun Yat-san's, and Ma Zedong's thought of the people's livelihood. His thought is the inheritance and development of Marxist, the absorption and discard of Sun Yat-sen's, and the important component of Ma Zedong's. Besides, Qu Qiubai's thought provides valuable experience for the problems of workers'wages, for the present issues concerning agriculture, countryside and farmers, for the quality-oriented education, and guides the establishment of a harmonious society.
