The History Of Modern Chinese Dulcimer Music Stages And Work On The Analysis

Dulcimer (Yang-chin), as an instrument from outside China, has been though for more than four hundred years in musical history in China. It has gotten great development on different fields, such as art of playing, musical instrument reform, music composition, etc. During its development in China it has developed a unique Chinese dulcimer system under the rich oriental soil. In the whole development of dulcimer art, music composition had played an extremely important role; it has not merely promoted the prosperity of the works, but also has promoted the dulcimer performing skill, dulcimer art theory and musical instrument reformation and innovation. This text is divided into three major parts: The first part is general introduction of the historical evolution of Chinese dulcimer, the history of dulcimer musical art development and an overview of the works during the traditional period. The second part mainly focuses on the study of modern works and has done an overall and systematic investigation on those works. The third part makes analysis on some of the key works. Through exploratory research and practice study, the author believes the development of the artistic undertaking of our dulcimer will be becoming more prosperous.
