| The topic of this study is related to the genocide of Armenians which happened in Ottoman between 1915 and 1917 and subsequent international incidents which were pertinent to this genocide. Within the context of background of early 20th century this study systematically analyzes varies reasons, including those of history, religion and politics that led to the outbreak of genocide, and international disputes which happened in the post-genocide period. Different attitudes of all related stakeholders, including Turkey, Armenia, the United States and the European Union towards Armenian genocide fall within the sphere of the topic. Discussions on relations between genocide with a number of current issues including Turkey's entry to the EU, Armenia-Azerbaijan's dispute over Nagorno-Karabakh, the US and Russia's engagement in the Middle East and Iran's stance in the international politics are carried out as well. Moreover, the study is also concerned to the topic of how to help China, a burgeoning player supported by boosting domestic economic and political development, to further exert its influence over a series of tough international issues including affaires of the Middle East.The theoretical value of this study is to conduct a brief analysis over Armenian genocide, an historical incident which has long been ignored, so as to alarm the modern world. Its realistic value is the discussion on the problem of nationalities in both China and the world by leaning lessons from Armenian genocide, for the sake of preventing the recurrence of the historical tragedy.The new significance of this study is to research Armenian genocide from perspectives of Turkey's entry to the EU, Iran nuclear issue, Nagorno-Karabakh dispute. |
