Since oil painting introduced into china 100 years ago, there has been a hot debate over the issue that is whether to absorb directly or to make some reservations towards the emerging subject. However, for principal painters at that time the ancient culture of china had profound influence on even since they were children took and advanced with the techniques of western paintings, while revealing some hints of localization in the aspects of emotion and consciousness. The constant collision of oil painting and Chinese culture began to arise attention from painters to produce oil paintings with an intention to present local culture, oriental preferences and some techniques from Chinese ink paintings in the themes, images or even the technique skills Inter-influence, interpenetration and inter-combination perform an essential role in the development of culture over different regional cultures, which bring us the unprecedented thinking development and cultural variations that make those people working on it or studying it have to deal with a dilemma, the differences of both paintings in concept and techniques. As Chinese preferring to ink and wash, westerns are in favor of colors. That is the result of varied culture and tradition in both sides, with an intercourse in essence. Therefore, collision and combination lead us to a unique approach of producing paintings with significant meanings.
