| The sea-drift TV series have emergenced more than 20 TV shows since"A Native of Beijing in New York"broadcasted in 1993. It experienced three stages of development and present path of evolution. Put forward the concept of sea-drift TV series by analysising the texts and studing theory of culture and typology. This TV series have showed the life of the immigrations in abroad and have formed its own features. Firstly,on the side of visual features,it pursued wonders and the ideographic function of pictures. Exterior and interior of external form ,such as city life, original amorous feelings, cars, casinos, Chinese restaurant appeared again and again. Secondly,on the side of narrative features,it formed three motif of pursuec, love and growth. It telled stories according to the plot model of"isexhausted—determination——pursue—solve".It framed stories by cultural conflict and binary opposition of characters.Thirdly,on the side of mirroring features,it showed the dilemma of immigrant identity ,the desire of foreign life and the differences of regional personality.Through a questionnaire survey to analyze its awareness and expectations.With the development of international communication and TV industrialization,the sea drift TV series is facing new opportunity. |
