Chen Shizeng is an important figure in modern art history, not only because he has been outstanding creative works of art, but also thanks to its extraordinary theory .his art theory put forward, particularly the revolution in his art the attitude of literati painting, positive impact on the development of Chinese painting. And later scholars of Chen Shizeng, the theory of giving insufficient attention to it, so they neglect Chen Shizeng as an artist and theorist made another thought that he had ever modified the idea of literati painting. I focus on this as this paper, starting from the analysis of the relevant text, combined with the actual writing, research and concluded that Chen Shizeng neither a complacent conservative, not a revolution blindly follow the trend. All his moves are derived from his inherent thoughts of painting. Thoughts of his painting include two important components, on the one hand, the face of the ills of Chinese painting, he have a show of intention to improve the literati painting. On the other hand, his improvements must be built on the basis of affirmative attitude of literati painting, if negated the value of literati painting, then he will firmly oppose.
