Daur is one of China's ethnic minorities, Its music culture has a long history. Daur is one of ethnic minorities that lives in the North of China and has a small population. At present, it mainly inhabits in Inner Mongolia Hulunbeir Morin Dawa Daur Autonomous Banner, Xinjiang Tacheng Athill Daur Ethnic Township, and Qiqihar Meris District Daur Ethnic Township. Daur's traditional music can not be separated from its ethnic history, economical development and people's living style. Because Daur has no written language, old traditional music was handed down in verbal form and remembered in mind in life. Materials about Daur appeared after the foundation of the People's Republic of China. Now with the proceeding of intangible cultural heritage protection projects, how to inherit and develop Daur traditional music in fast development of society, economy and culture becomes a very important problem. The writer takes Meris District Daur traditional music culture as subjects, finishes the paper named Inheritage and Development of Meris District Daur Traditional Music Culture. This paper mainly talks about characteristics of the inheritage and development of Meris District Daur traditional music from such three aspects as development and formation of Daur traditional music, new development of Daur traditional music after the foundation of the People's Republic of China, and present conditions of Meris District Daur traditional music.
