Li Bihua is a popular writer in Hong Kong China. Although her works are love stories, they have richer connotative meanings than love. Her works are full of characteristics of Hong Kong and often pay attention to Chinese history, society, and politics. Li Bihua's novels often adapted as films which loved by film critics and audiences. It emerges the successful example that literature forms alliance with movies toward us in the popular business trend. But both of her novels and films are in the preliminary study stage, the paper attempts to deepen the study of her movies and novels from the perspective of comparative literature.The thesis can be divided into four chapters:Li Bihua who owns many years of the empirical background to dramatize has strong photoplay features, such as dramatic plots, montage, descriptive paintings and movements can be seen and felt and use cinema scenes to talk about stories.The second chapter analyses her works have popular and entertaining characters which accord with the commercial characters of Hong Kong films.The third chapter tries to find the reasons why her works can attract some art of directors'attention. It divides four parts to show her features and ideas in her works:the "other" in the period of post-colonialism, the new feminism, the social history background and the Cultural Revolution impression.The last chapter compares the differences between the movies and novels on the themes, plots, endings and tries to find the reasons why the movies should be changed. It also tries to explain the success of some, and the failure of other movies at the box office.
