This thesis focuses on Liu Zhide, the representative artist of Huxian peasant paintings in the Great Cultural Revolution time. Now, the researches of the history of Huxian peasant paintings are remaining at only explaining the phenomenon of peasant painting activity from the aspect of politics. But nobody studies the details in the history of Huxian peasant paintings, such as the peasants how to go in for the peasant painting activity and how to be organized. This thesis is basing on the present academic studies.Liu Zhide was famous as the painting The old Secretary. The style of his works is not related to himself, but the society. At first he was just fond of painting, then was organized by the government and painting for the socialist. Through those life experiences, his activities and style of painting was socialized.The experiences of Liu Zhide were not only representative of most of the Huxian peasant artists, but also professional artists of the time of Mao Zedong.
