Yu-hai is an encyclopedias written byWang Ying-lin, who is a famous scholar inNorth-Sung. This book resoures wide, contents abundant, categories meticulous,known as the "the World's Masterpieces". The historical events of Tang and Sungsaved in Yu-hai are taken from the Shi-lu, national history and other historicalmaterials. These historical materials almost has been lost, so Shi-lu saved in Yu-haihas an important historical value.In this paper, I begin with a question that Wang Ying-lin's life and Yu-hai how tobe a book, study the Shi-lu category in "Yu-hai ? arts ", the basic situation of Yu-haiquoting the Tang and Sung Shi-lu, and the historical value of the Tang and SungShi-lu saved in Yu-hai,thus hold all questions related with the Shi-lu in Yu-haioverall.First of all, I think that Wang Ying-lin's good family education and goodteachers laid a solid foundation for the preparation to write Yu-hai. He passed a longofficial career time at the centre of the government, which made him can see variouscollections, providing forYu-hai a rich source of historical datas.Second, by analyzing the method of descriting Shi-lu in "Yu-hai ? arts", weknow Wang Ying-lin's understanding of Shi-lu. Based on holding "Yu-hai·arts"Shi-lu category overall, the paper analysis the nature and value of Shi-lu's forward,the issues about "Bian-ti" of Shi-lu, which has higher academic value.Again,Yu-hai quotes more than 300 Tang ang Sung Shi-lu, the paper extractsout all Shi-lu one by one. "Tang-shunzong Shi-lu"and "Sung-taizong Shi-lu" is theonlysaved Shi-lu, so these Shi-lu has an important historical value.Finally, compared the Shi-lu in Yu-hai one by one with various of history booksof the Tang and Sung, I find that a number of Shi-lu in Yu-hai are not contained inother history books. These Shi-lu content may supply historical records, and has animportant historical value. In addition, some Shi-lu contents can correct otherhistorical materials error, plays the role of emendationion. In all, Shi-lu saved in Yu-hai has higher historical value.Of course, it also hasshortcomings. It quotes certain Shi-lu slightly abridged, in accordance with the needof their own wording, which destroys Shi-lu's integrity, even leads to the mistake ofthe historical facts.
