《The Records about the Government and Society》written by Zhang Zhuo,is one of the several historical notes in the early time of Tang Dynasty.The book,which mainly recorded the anecdotes about the officials from Emperor Gao to Emperor Xuan period,involved a lot of valuable documents which can complement official history books and reflect social culture.But the scholars in the past didn't speak highly of this book.The writer of the essay specially studies《The Records about the Government and Society》in the aspects of the author's experience,the different versions and lost sentences during of the book,the sentences which quoted by historiography book《Tong Jian kao Yi》,the comparison between the related records of《The Records about the Government and Society》and the history book《Zi Zhi Tong Jian》,《Old Tang History Book》and《New Tang History Book》and the records weren't mentioned by official history books in《The Records about the Government and Society》.According that,the writer of the essay tried to demonstrate value of《The Records about the Government and Society》,which can be regarded as a complement and reference book for official history books,contains variety of records and has deep influence in the history.
