This dissertation firstly tries to construct a Chinese semantic frame of Intentionally-creating based on Frame semantics (by Fillmore) and American Framenet, combining the characteristic of Mandarin Chinese. Further, the dissertation depicts and analyzes the distinctive frame of Intentionally-creating in detail. This study will enrich the Chinese Framenet and is helpful to the construction of more semantical frames. Besides, it will also expand and deepen people's understanding of the research of semantic frames. The dissertation consists of six chapters.Chapter One determines the subject of study, summarizes the current situation of frame semantics including theoretical study and applications, and sums up the related works of intentionally-creating verbs. What is more, it presents the purpose, theories and methods as well as the source of examples.Chapter Two mainly makes an investigation on the lexical units. It firstly distinguishes between the meanings and lexical units, dertermines the qualification of lexical units. In light of the analysis on the semantic features of lexical units, it sets up some test frameworks to check corresponding verbs. Finally, a list of the simply-classfied lexical units is made by means of collecting qualified verbs in some authentic dictionaries, such as The Contemporary Chinese Dictionary.Chapter Three and Four separately study the core frame elements and non-core elements of the Intentional-creating frame. First of all the paper explains the rules about setting up such frame elements and the relationship of core frame elements and non-core frame elements. Furthermore, it depicts and studies these frame elements in different perspectives, for instance the frame elements'definition, semantic features, syntactic realization and markers.Chapter Five illuminates the frame-semantic constructions of the Intentionally-creating frame. The frame-semantic is composed of semantic configuaration and syntactic realization. On the basis of corpus, the paper depicts and analyzes the Intentionally-creating frame-semantic detailedly. In addition, It also focuses on the performance of the whole frame-semantic construction in different syntactic circumstances like"in a clause".Chapter Six is an epilogue. It sums up the main content, expands on the significance of this dissertation and some probable creative pionts.
