Depression Hypnosis Autobiographical Memory Over-generalization Study

In recent years psychologists were thorough to the depression and the autobiographical memory research day by day.The recent discoveries have found that the depression patient's autobiographical memory is prone to have the over-generalization situation—Their recollection of their own memory is over-generalized, abstract and vague,rather than detailed and concrete. Meanwhile the clinical research discovered that the patients of anxiety disorder and PTSP as well as the suicide groups also have the phenomenon of autobiographical memory over-generalization, but these researches were basically carried out abroad, there is no similar one in our country at present.In addition, all these researches were made under the tested's sober condition and didn't involve discussion of the autobiographical memory phenomenon under the state of hypnosis. This article is a plan about conducting research on this domain.In this research, the recent research development was first reviewed, including the autobiographical memory over-generalization and hypnosis, then the existing problems are pointed out and supposition is proposed. Based on this, personnel whose SDS standard score is over 53 points are chose as the tested to carry on the experiment. The experiment is divided into two parts, (1)Make recollection of clue word under sober condition to test the autobiographical memory situation of the tested.(2)Test the autobiographical memory situation of the tested under hypnotic state, two graders grade independently and do analysis of the related data. The findings indicated:(1) The hypnosis is helpful to the extraction of the depression personnel autobiographical memory, even make it possible for them recover to the normal level; The memory over-generalization situation weakens after hypnosis,which is found through the paired sample T-test.Moreover, through Mann-Whitney test on the statistics of the experimental group and control group score, the difference between the two groups changes from obvious to unobvious.(2) The effect which the hypnosis brings on the control group is not obvious.Whether having the hypnosis or not, the change of the control group autobiographical memory is not big.In this research, apart from the discussion of the findings, the existing problems as well as the direction of the later research is also pointed out. This research has deeper understanding of the over-generalization phenomenon of the depression personnel's autobiographical memory and also contains the study of over-generalization in a domestic environment. Furthermore, it is not only helpful to the domestic personnel related to psychology as to deepening their understanding of the depression autobiographical memory situation, but can enhance the development of psychological treatment activities.
