The development of cities and towns in the country's socialist modernization contain implicit significance, Which is the strategic choice for the road of urbanization with Chinese characteristics. The development of cities and towns is conducive not only to adjust the industrial structure, employment structure and urban-rural relations, but also conducive to ease the city's inadequate domestic demand and the market constraints, to reduce the pressure of rural-urban high-speed flow so as to protect the socio-economic sustainable development. The development of cities and towns in today's growing emphasis on the history of urban development from the experiences and lessons , summing up valuable experience from the history of different times and in different regions, different types of urban development trajectory in urban development, which maintain an important reference role in today's society the development of cities and towns, as well as the transition development.In this paper, the materialist conception of history as a guide, By drawing on historical geography of the professional theories and research methods and sociology and economics-related research methods, focusing on an analysis of the history geographical factors of the Rise and Fall about Daokou town during the Ming and Qing Dynasties which is a famous town in Yubei in Republic of China, By analysing and reflecting the rise and fall of the course ,moreover,comparing the history of the Rise and Fall about Daokou with other town so as to get hold of some enlightenment on the development of its urban and economic.The first part of this article analysing the formation of Daokou Town from the economic development and urban construction in several stages ; the second part introducing the prosperity of Daokou town in the late Qing and early Republic of China, emphasizing on analysing the reasons for the rise of Daokou Town,containing the main location,the prosperity of material flow, Weihe river, Daoqing railway , policy support of rulers,, the impact of the budding capitalist economy, the promotion between businessmen; the third part introduce the decline of the Daokou town in Republic of China , from the siltted up of Wei River,the demolished of Daoqing railways, imperialist invasion, natural disasters and so on ,Futhermore, this article carrying on a deep-level thinking from the transport system, economic model, business model, the development of awareness . the last part of this paper through the comparation of the Rise and Fall of the history between Daokou town and other famous town ,analysing the course of development of the similarities and differences of these cities and towns and its underlying causes, to get enlightenment on the development of urban,finally,combined with the analysis in the full text of the status quo and development of Daokou Town as a summary.
