Reflective thinking is widely regarded as an important element in promoting teachers' professional development. Teachers' reflective thinking ability can help to fill the gap between the educational theories and practice, and help to reduce the burden of both teachers and students as well as increase efficiency.This essay quotes different understanding of "reflective thinking" and "reflective teaching", reviews the development of reflective teaching in English, and elaborates different levels of reflective teaching. Based on the survey of "current situation of senior high school English teachers in Huangpu District", this essay tries to explore how to train English teachers with reflective thinking through reflection extracts. For example: guide the teachers to reflect on classes of different teaching contents or different students through "class observation notes"; encourage the teachers to reflect on teaching strategy through "teaching cases"; set up " reflection group" and organize various kinds of reflection activities, such as individual reflection, group reflection, theme-based reflection and action research.This essay also sums up the basic content, form and requirement of reflection extracts which are suitable for English teachers with different reflection levels. |
