Fault-tolerant Design, Thinking And The Art Of Modern Characters

The relationship between the could-be-wrong of Chinese characters and how to identify them constitutes a "fault tolerance" characteristics.This article is to explore the learning of the fault-tolerant way of thinking in the Chinese art typographic design, and to be able to approach the formation of the guidance to enable more Chinese characters to be active with design and expand design space for the free play of Chinese practice of art.First of all,to explore the reason for the opening and the variety of the Chinese characters patterns in the evolution and simplification process of Chinese characters through the retrospective process of historical evolution of Chinese characters,and propose the potential relationship of fault-tolerant ideas and structures of Chinese characters,then combine the cognitive psychology research results in the Chinese character recognition with the physical characteristics of Chinese characters,and further analyze the Chinese character "can-be-wrong" and the basic law of visual recognition.On this basis,to summarize and conclude the performance and application of fault-tolerant idea in Chinese characters design from examples and provides greater space and potential for the Chinese character design.Chinese characters,as symbols of information dissemination,the design thinking and methods of graphic design have wide range of meanings.Visual communication needs to break through visual habits,to present the most profound and richest content to intensive the form of symbolization and intensiveness,and to convey the desired meaning through the highly refined graphics and easy-to-understand language.This article introduces "fault-tolerant way of thinking" in scientific research into the design of Chinese art,and in the repeated "trial and error" process develops new realm in the form of artistic expression of Chinese characters,and form a peer-to-peer and open attempt in the design methods.
