This article focuses on the beginning of Chinese contemporary art, which is, Fine Arts mainly Sichuan painting during 1976-1985. Hope that after more than twenty years, we can now make a calm and objective carding and introspection for those arts created at that time. Therefore, the author chose three artists to conduct case studies, by analyzing the growth of their experience and artistic creation and vertically relating with other works in the same category at the same time, to fully demonstrate Scar Art, Rusticated Youth Art and Rural Art, three major art trends at that time. Also, horizontal comparisons of the similarities and differences between the three major trends have been done, in order to show the progressive development and orientation of the human consciousness recovery in these three major trends. After the Cultural Revolution in 1976, long-term political constraints and the yoke of Chinese art started to break, artists and their works began to reveal people's emotions and real life.First of all, Scar Art provides a way for those suppressed people to catharsis their long-term sufferings. A group of painting reflecting fighting and scenes of violence during the Cultural Revolution, strongly criticized of the "Gang of Four" and the movement itself. The consciousness of humanity has finally staged despite power of politics. At the same time, there are Rusticated Youth Arts. It also focused on the movement during the Cultural Revolution; young people went to country and remote places. It has gone beyond just making simple accusation of the Cultural Revolution, but more personalized content, more complex emotions, more poetic expressions, in order to draw attention to the deep reflection of the past history, and awareness of the human consciousness and development.Rural Art, on the other hand, enhanced the awareness of the value of human nature at various levels. By extending the major role to the peasant class, it draws the most popular attention to the awareness of humanity. And its targets are not just the Cultural Revolution, but those mistakes after the founding of China. However, the three major art trends are not completely free from the political influences. Although focusing on the breakthrough in creating method of art during the Cultural Revolution and also step by step remarkable achievements have been made, but somehow, they have more or less relationship with politics. Attribute to this unique feature, Arts created during 1976-1985 as outcome for a transition period of Chinese society from the Mao era to the era of reform and opening up, their significance and impact should be highly appreciated and respected.
