Soft Space

Other than define public art as the art of public environmental customized products,now it may regard as a cultural phenomenon.In modern cities,will people feel increasing happiness with abundance of material affluence? The answer is no.High-speed and monotony of life not only deteriorated the quality of life,but also affected the physical and psychological health.This is a problem that can not be ignored.Public art is meant to be able to help people to solve these problems,which not only make the city more beautiful,but also make it more suitable for people to live:a place where you can rest your body and park your spirit.The city belongs to citizens of the city,it must meet various needs of people living there.This is what public art need to address.Public art can adjust the physical space and psychological space.These ideas came from my observation and analysis originally.Later,many theories from other disciplines presented the same point of view which proved my assumption.Not only social science disciplines such as environmental psychology,philosophy,sociology,etc.,but also other natural science disciplines, are able to prove the value of public art.Specifically,architecture put equal importance to re-creation a space,also applies similar theory of layout and planning of physical space,as well as the impact of these layout and planning influences people who are directly related to these architectureThere is no doubt that the creation of public art is to follow certain rules.It not only demonstrates the artist's creativity,but also to show the relationship between people and the environment.Human needs is the purpose of the public art activities.It can be fully understood:artists can feel their own needs,and in addition,can go deeper into people's life to understand the needs of others through various channels.Environmental factors are also important.Of course,people's needs to pursue functionality of environment and the atmosphere created with the space is objective.Therefore,artists should demonstrate the best creativity and own initiative to analyze the characteristics of the people's needs and the place,and to create the work of public art that can bring a sense of comfort to the people.It is one kind of social responsibility that each of the creators of public art works reflects needs of the public.Everything is for the public.The existence of public art makes a better life of mankind,we have too many adjectives to description of the space that we yearn for.If,however,we only choose one word to express,I can think of "soft" because the word can represent all the good qualities.And public art only exists to create a better life for people.
