Transformation Of Modern Architecture

In the 20th century, the Second Industrial Revolution has brought about great advances in human civilization. Science and technology are developing rapidly and have come to pervade every aspect of our lives. This is the motive force of the revolution in the architecture design. In the meantime, modernization brings us many serious problems of ecological environment. Based on the reflection of modernity, postmodernism comes into exist. On one hand, this thought brought new revolution in the area which has been dominated by the thinking of modernity. And the main issue of this dissertation is the transformation of modern architectural art happened in this period. On the other hand, to face the huge problem brought by modernity, aesthetics theory make a big step in how to deal with human and ecological environment which tied with the existence of human. In the 1980s, this thought calls the international field of aesthetics for concerted effort to research ecological environment and aesthetics. The concept of the"Ecology Aesthetics"was first mooted by Chinese aesthetics in the middle of 1990s. This dissertation focuses on rebuilding the multiple aesthetics relations between human and nature, human and society, and human being themselves. Therefore, the author uses the Ecology Existing Theory Aesthetics as a special perspective to analyze the transformation of Modern Architectural Art. Meanwhile three texts are provided to argue the perspective of Ecology Existing Theory Aesthetics.This dissertation concludes three parts of analysis:The first part introduces the perspective of Ecology Existing Theory Aesthetics. Different with other theory which only pay attention on the ecological relationship with human and nature, Ecology Existing Theory Aesthetics has a theory core, Contemporary Ontology Aesthetics. Ecology Existing Theory Aesthetics is a product of post-modernism, and a kind of contemporary theory. It enriches and develops the past ecological theory at different levels---in relationship between human and nature, the problem of inter-subjective and the problem of "anthropocentrism" three aspects. It pays greater respect for independent existence of objects which not belongs to human and focus on the aesthetic state of human existence.The second part is the focus of this article. It mainly discusses the correlation between the transformation of architectural art and the perspective of Ecology Existing Theory Aesthetics. Transformation took place in the historical period from the modern architecture to the post-modern buildings which play the important role. There are two mainly directions with the transformation. One is the replacement of modern architecture, the other one is the inner revolution of modern architecture. Also, with deeply observation of the process, these two directions can be embodied in three levels. These levels are reflected in the architect's respect for the natural environment, shaping the building as a particular symbol and focusing on the spirit level of human who lives in the building. Based on the inseparable relationship between the construction and human, the three levels of Transformation of the Modern Architectural Art correspond to the three basic meanings of Ecology Existing Theory Aesthetics which includes the relationship between human and nature, human and society and human being themselves to achieve an aesthetics status on ecological balance. This is also the reason why the author uses the point of view to interpret the transformation.The last part of the article is the typical text interpretation. It sets three typical texts that each of them reflects the modern architecture's changes in different aspects which correspond to three levels of the transformation mentioned above and to the three basic content of Ecology Existing Theory Aesthetics. In addition, transformation is result from the thinking of the relationship between the architecture and environment because of contemporary ecological problems. This thought works as the big reason which leads to the transformation. As a result, the discussion of every text starts from the harmony with the surrounding environment. Besides, because Ecology Existing Theory Aesthetics is based on the aesthetic status of eco-balance,this kind of correspondence is appropriate and significant.This interpretation is a new attempt. Although the perspective still has ways to develop, the interpret is meaningful at least in two aspects: First, it can better theorize the transformation of architectural art and guide the future tendency; second, during the interpretation it can make some inspirations, and enrich the Ecology Existing Theory Aesthetics itself.
