Toni Morrison was the first black women writer who was awarded Nobel Prize for literature.In her works,she shows way of thinking more and through this way to describe the loss of black culture and black people looking for their culture and reconstructing it.After black people came to the United States,the search for and reconstruction of culture have always been the most focused problem.They face not only heavy national memory and unfair treatment which bring about varieties of consequences.In the face of various cultures,especially under the shock of white culture,black people come to realize the loss of their own culture and begin to look for the reconstruction of their own culture.African-American is an edge of their own race, and black women is even the edge of that edge,therefore,Toni Morrison's literature fields of view are not only looking at the culture,but also starting from the awareness of black women and concerning about the identity of black women and their living conditions as well as their awakening of the subjectivity.Gender,race and culture are included in the fields of view of Toni Morrison and her works bring about much shock and thinking which wake up our culture spirit from all aspects of the society.This paper is divided into two parts:In first part,firstly,it sorts out the cultural roots of African-American and pays more attention to the loss of black people traditional culture under the shock of white culture.Secondly,with the recognition of the loss of black culture,Morrison looks for the ways of how to possess the identity of black people culture again.She expresses a wish to face up to the past,reveal the nation's grief,amend the memory of the history,continue the nation's culture for curing for the pain and reconstructing a new culture of black people.Moreover,it is concerned about how to combine the tradition of black people with the reality of the United States in order to have a better development and let black people own a bright future.In second part:it is mainly concerned about the image of women in Morrison's works which explores the loss of subjectivity of black women deeper and then shows part of the awakening of the black women who try their best to explore reconstruction of the Subjectivity.Because of different reasons and restrictive conditions,the result of exploration of the subjectivity is also different.Morrison conveys her own sense by writing:She sticks to the standpoint of rooting in national black feminist position,she also concerns about not only enthusiasm for women culture,female emotions,love of women perse,but concerns about individuals at the same time does not be out of the black nation.Black people should dedicate themselves to the nation and the safeguarding of national integrity.With prospects for the development of the nation, individuals can have more space for development.Toni Morrison writes the reflections of the value of national culture by the concern of black culture.And through the concern of black women,she explores black women and the fate of black culture and a way out.It is that her works show characteristics and effects to readers.The writing,including gender,race and culture,is an all-round and has far-reaching significance.
