The problem of "Sin" and "Evil" is very important in the philosophy of religion. If it can not be solved, people will be doubtful of religion. In the precondition that God is just, the Theodicy claims that the existence of sin and evil is reasonable. From Augustine on,although theologizes began to prove the existence of God and explain the reason of the existence of evil,Augustine's Theodicy was always the doctrine. In modern time,Leibniz provided a new argument of God's existence with the law of contradiction and the principle of sufficient reason.Leibniz also used the theory of Preestablished Harmony and the best world to explain the problem of sin and evil. Thereby Leibniz refreshed the Theodicy in the new age.On the other hand, the Principle of Sufficient Reason, the idea of freedom and equality in his monadology all had very important influence on other philosophers after him.The different attitudes to the relation between reason and religion in the theories of Augustine,Thomas Aquinas and Leibniz showed the battle between philosophy and theology in history. The 17 century was a century which finally broke away from the scholasticism and began to build up a new system, and Leibniz's theory about reason and religion reflected the characteristic of philosophy in that age.
