My major speciality is the study of fundamental modeling in the postgraduate leaning period,and this paper is a brief report on my practical experience and theoretical study in three years.Employed method of the unification of practice and theory,the paper originated from my own practice experience, certificated and supplemented some questions involved through relative data consulting.As the foundation of painting creation,key of Fundamentals of Modeling is to identify the relation in the drawing process,including object,picture and painter.The object is the fountainhead;picture is either the media how painter to express his intention,or the way to reflect the object;painter is the subject and performer;all of those are transactional and interactional.Only realising such relation that the painter would keep his active thoughts during the painting process,that is to paint his feeling,drawing by the image need,rather than passive imitating the object.Just as what Matisse says:"I cannot copy the nature like a servant did,I should explain the nature which must obey the painting spirit."...
