Traveling Travel Images In The Art Of The Han Dynasty Tombs

A large number of procession of carriages and horsemen images were showed in the middle and lower classes funerary architectures in the Han Dynasty. The thesis collects all the images, analyzes the form and meaning, then summarizes the key for study the Han funerary images. This analysis is based on comprehensive images, summarizes all procession of carriages and horsemen images in all tombs, arranges the images by time clues and analyzes the development and changes in its form, then thinks the meaning.The thesis is divided into three sections, Chapter 1 is the introduction about the excavation and research of procession of carriages and horsemen images of the Han Dynasty. Chapter 2 is the arrangement and classification for the images, and by the comparison about images at the earlier and maturing periods, analyzing the changes about its structure forms and the changing reasons. This analysis is developed from two clues , one is the whole tomb image system where the procession of carriages and horsemen images located, it is found by analysis that during the developing process, the relatively stable distribution relations are formed step by step between the procession of carriages and horsemen images and Heaven,building,cooking,dancing, which is the core subject of the tomb image system. Another clues is the analysis about the form of the procession of carriages and horsemen images, it is found that the relations between it and building is very close, it represents that the procession proceeds to the building, there are some representing methods surrounding this subject, building image among them becomes more and more simple, in most tomb images of East Han, even omit the building image. surrounding the subject distribution and form development of the procession of carriages and horsemen images, the meaning analysis is developed in the Chapter 3 of the thesis, this analysis is also based on the predecessor's research, the explanation of senior scholars are often reasonable, but the conclusion is only suitable for some tombs images, it can't cover the whole, this article looks for the relations among the explanations based on the images, and makes the developing process of the procession of carriages and horsemen images meaning clear depending on it.
