| Robert Schumann is regarded as the greatest musical poet in German music history,as well as one of the most extraordinary representatives of progressive art in the 19th century.Under the influence of Romanticism,he expressed his own understanding of art with a combination of unique music composition technique and profound literary foundation.As for the field of piano,he initiated the genre of piano divertimento,meanwhile,the titles and themes of his works also add strong literary factors to his music creation and criticism.The emergence of piano divertimento promoted the development of piano pieces in the 19th century to a new stage and established Schumann's significant position in the history of piano music.This thesis intends to comprehend the style,characteristics,and idea of Schumann's music creation,and explore the performing methods and teaching significance of piano divertimento.The thesis includes three parts:introduction,body,and conclusion.The body falls into four chapters:The introduction presents the concept of Schumann's piano divertimento and its significance in his works,pointing out the research value of Carnaval.The fast chapter of the body introduces Schumann's life and his works.After an introduction of his life experience,a review of his works is presented,which mainly involves an analysis of his music creation,music criticism and artistic style.The second chapter deals with his first successful piano divertimento—Carnaval Op.9,which is also the most representative one.Based on the analysis of the background of this divertimento,the author reveals the literariness and themes in Schumann's works.The third chapter is an analysis of Carnaval.The author elaborately investigates the creation characteristics of Schumann through noumenon analysis(harmonic analysis and musical form analysis) and music appearance analysis.The last chapter analyses the performance of Carnaval and illustrates how to comprehend Schumann's style,characteristics,and performing methods in real performance. The conclusion part explores the significance of performing and teaching of Schumann's piano divertimento through the previous analysis,and what's more,calls forth further discussion. |
