| In traditional lexical teaching model, the learners focus on the isolated words, as a result, it's hard for them to improve the ability to use the words or the expressions.Up to now, most researches in lexical teaching study take either macro-level perspectives, or micro-level perspectives. Then, they pay more attentions to the general theory of pedagogy, or teaching skills in specific scenarios. In other words, neither of them concerns the meso-level studies– the study of teaching models. In fact, there are lots of teaching model prototypes in teaching practices, which would be a guidance for the teachers. With the analysis of Intensive Reading Course teaching, and the description of some teaching cases, this paper explored the present lexical teaching models in the perspectives of general lexical teaching theory, pedagogy, and psychology, figuring every teaching model's strengths and shortcoming. To break through the traditional lexical teaching models, this paper proposed a transitional lexical teaching model, which takes root in tradition ones, and views the contextual teaching as a main teaching method, combining the lexical chunks teaching idea in specific teaching practices. In order to demonstrate the feasibility of this transitional model, a teaching design was brought up under the guidance of the model. At the same time, a teaching experiment was carried out to measure the model's effectiveness, which ends up showing the new teaching model has significant effects on lexical teaching. |
