As a famous homosexual writer in Taiwan, Qiu Miaojin has deep feelings for the social embarrassment and miserable conditions of the homosexuals. Springing from its absolute writing which follows the decision of death, her autobiographical novel "Letters from Montmarte", therefore, gains the cultural values of original writing. In the book the author discusses on the heavy topic of death and being, aiming to process self-salvation of heart by means of fictional text. My thesis is to investigate how Qiu unfolds this process of salvation and moreover, to seek the in-depth cultural values of "Letters from Montmarte".
