Art And Responsibility

Bakhtin's deep thinking results on philosophy are expressed through literary theory. In the face of the division which was formed since modern philosophy between the culture world and the real world, Bakhtin would like to be a living existence, unique and a single one who can't be replaced and must take the responsibility in a specific history to bridge the gap of the culture world and the real world and put sense of responsibility of the ethical philosophy on the literary theory concepts of "dialogue, polyphony, carnival, edge" etc. to construct his own literary theory. In this paper, the author bases on the view of "sense of responsibility" and combines Abrams' four literary elements to inspect Bakhtin's literary theory construction.Firstly, responsibility issues were raised. Bakhtin as proposed in the book "art and responsibility" that there is no responsibility and commitments between art and life. And he put forward the disintegration of culture world and life world in his behavior theoretical philosophy. But the closeness of this disintegration needs to confirm it's unique ethically subject role. Put the culture contents and the existence in life together in form of subject responsibility and make them unified, thus to construct the "first philosophy" which take on responsibility sense by ethical subject.Secondly, the sense of responsibility has been embodied in the " four elements". There are theories of outside spaces; super-visual, and aesthetic figuration that around author's aesthetic creativity in Bakhtin's theory. There are theories of Polyphony, dual sound and miscellaneous languages that focus on the language structure of the work. There are also theories of dialogues focus on the interactive action between reader and the work and whoopee theories which focus on the world. The sense of responsibility of subject remains in all those theories. It is on the responsibility of the unified actors, and these theories of the meaning of life and people are linked to the organic world, thus bridging the world of life and cultural divisions of the world.Thirdly, the construction and requirement of the responsibility theory. The crises of the modern world are twofold. The first is the crisis of divisions between the theory world and life. The second is the crisis of modern philosophy, which does not provide a communication principle to the divisions of the two worlds. Bakhtin constructivism, which is to build a sense of responsibility for the unification of the principles of literary theory, is to give the divided world the principles of communication. However, whether this program is entirely feasible or not is still in question, waiting for the continuous test of the theory in reality.Bakhtin uses a sense of responsibility to run through his art theory. His purpose is to unify the culture world and life world by a character in ethical action, which has a sense of responsibility. And let people's behavior motivation and behavior results unified. It will make the existence of people achieve a fair and reasonable status. Art adds savor for life and life lays foundation for arts.
