| The Annotated Dufu's Poems by Qian Qianyi is an influential masterpiece on the study of Du Fu's poems, and it has been given enough value from researchers at the beginning. But as a result of Qian Qianyi own personality stain, the work had received lots of criticism and negative reviews in the previous study, and the study on it has just limited in examining its new method interpreting poems. Therefore, it is necessary and meaningful to acknowledge its value and shortcomings objectives through a complete research. This article aims at investigating the work's value in literature through in-depth analysis of its writing background, the writing material as well as the situation that it spread in secret in the later generation. It is hoping that the findings from this research can benefit the future research activities.The article is divided into six chapters.The first chapter gives a brief introduction on the research backgrounds, the rationale of the research question as well as its methodology.The second chapter argues that the development of the study of Du Fu's poems and its influence to The Annotated Dufu's Poems by Qian Qianyi after Tang Dynasty. The study of Du Fu's poems had undergone several ups and downs. When Tang Dynasty, because of people's contempt, only the very few people studies the study of Du Fu's poems. To Song Dynasty, although very many people all in make the annotation for the Du Fu's poetry, and in textually researches Du Fu's poetry writing age, explained its historical story in poems and so on literature reference aspect they have obtained the great achievement, but they cannot distinguish clearly the genuine and fake, limits to the subject that Du Fu also cannot forget emperor's when he eats meal, therefore, these research lacks the invention; In Yuan Dynasty and Ming Dynasty time, the people annotation Du Fu's poems generally all inherits the annotation method which Liu Chenweng invents, moreover, because the Ming Dynasty person does not like studying, they have made very many mistakes to Du Fu's poems annotation. Thus, to the Qing Dynasty initial period, the development of the study of Du Fu's poems had already received the enormous limit. It needs to reorganize thoroughly. The Annotated Dufu's Poems by Qian Qianyi is precisely writes in such situation, it summarize the Du Fu's poetry beforehand research results and hoped to promote its development.The third chapter discusses the writing background of The Annotated Dufu's Poems by Qian Qianyi.
