The electronic synthetic timbres are the kind of sounds that are non- real instrumental sounds, and do not exist in the real life. Characterized by its typical non-reality, it does not only play a major role in the electronic music, but is also widely use in other musical styles and different themes. It has brought endless new timbre experiences. As its carrier of vocalization, the electronic musical instruments work with different sound generating principles, comparing acoustic musical instruments, which leads to the great difference in electronic synthesis timbres and the harmony instrument timbre. The quickly developing and improved scientific methods endow the electronic synthesis timbres with infinity of creation and the infinite variety of sound modulation, which forms the uniqueness of its timbre characteristics.During the processes of harmonizing musical instruments and the production in musical works, the uniqueness of the timber characteristics lead to (directly or not) the various differences in the timbres of the acoustic instruments. From the aspects of timbre characteristics, naming, the uniqueness in catalogues and timbre edition, and the main methods in performance and modulation, etc., the paper discusses the uniqueness and the major methods of the modulation during the process of the electronic synthesis timber production, under the environment of computers. And the paper also applies some pieces of musical works to the analyses, in order to elaborate the actual application of the electronic synthesis timbres in all levels of the music. Thus, the paper could offer valuable practical references as to the electronic timbres in the creation of the modern music.
