The Acquisition of the syntax has always been especially attractive within the individual's systemic language competence, so as to become the core in the dispute of the language acquisition theories. So far, the language acquisition theory has gone through several great developing stages. The usage-based theory of language acquisition advanced by Michael Tomasello represents the new research direction. Based on the frame of the usage-based theory, this thesis, using the methods of case study and corpus, described and analyzed the acquisition of the predicative exocentric construction of a Beijinghua-speaking child from the age of 1; 6 to 4;0. The all-sides of the descriptions mainly include the inner composition structures and outer functions of the predicative exocentric construction in early child language development, as well as the usage of some special constructions. We also analyzed the examinee's use of some special verbs according to the need for study. While describing the examinee's use condition of the predicative exocentric construction, the thesis also did some comparisons with the existing relevant researches for some concrete language phenomenon. The concerned comparisons concluded comparing the predicative exocentric construction frame between adult's language and child's ,the examinee's use of"ba"("把")-sentences with the results in the field of the Chinese children language study, the child's using condition of"le"("δΊ†")/"zhe"("着")/"ne"("ε‘’")with the situation of learning language as a second language. Furthermore, we explained the corresponding results. The discussion part touched upon two controversial subjects. One is about the question of concrete and abstract, which relates to the device of children language acquisition. The other is that whether the syntactic category (subject, object) needs to learn or not. The conclusions are that utterances in early children are all concrete, which is especially clearly for the use of verbs; children acquiring the syntactic category need to use their general cognitive and social cognitive skills. As to the course and tactics of children first language acquisition, the result of this thesis kept the same with the usage-based theory. The last part involved the questions of the representativeness of the selected case in the case study, and natured and un-natured orientation in the language acquisition theory.
