Study Of The Shape Of The Urban Street Environment And Facilities Design

Urban streets are the communication place of people, and the street furniture offer conveniences to the communication activities, therefore they become one of the most necessary parts of people's life. With the development of the era and improvement of the life level, the contents and forms of the urban street furniture are becoming more and more abundant; not only the functions but also the relationships with the environment and users have become the emphasis of the design and research work. In this situation, the purpose of this paper is just doing research on the form design of the urban street furniture through survey and investigation in the cities.There are seven parts in this paper: the first part, a summary of the background, contents, methods and the sense of the whole study are made; the second part, a summary of the theory of the urban streets, street furniture, form design are finished in order to make research direction clearly; the third part, the problems existing in the form design of urban street furniture are illustrated by using some examples base on analyzing the survey and investigating in modern cities; the forth part, the correlative factors e.g. modality beauty principle, function, material, color, man-machine engineering, human behavior and environment, which influence the form design of the urban street furniture, are analyzed; the fifth part, the principles of the function, system, humanization and the green design of the form design of the urban street furniture according to the analysis of the influencing factors are summarized; the sixth part, the methods of the form design of the urban street furniture, such as orientation design, combination design and imitate design are concluded; the seventh part, based on the research of theory and design method, a practical design is made.
