| As the reform deepens, economy now becomes a big issue in people's daily life. Economic news now is one of the biggest and most important sources of economic information, which has become the most significant content in mass media as well as a major means for them to attract the mass and build up their images.To further comprehend and analyze economic news reports, the present thesis applies the theory of Systemic Functional Grammar to conduct text analysis. The research materials in this thesis are 60 economic news texts collected from People's Daily and Guangming Daily.There are five parts in the thesis. The first chapter is introduction, which introduces you to the object of study, task of study, method of study and value of study. At the same time, there is a review on relevant theories of text analysis and the prior researches in China and abroad in the introduction. The second chapter, the third chapter and the forth chapter analyze the 60 news texts in terms of vocabulary, transitive system, voice, modal system, theme, information structure, etc. The thesis further states how a text is influenced by the three variables of register, i.e. Field,Tenor,Mode. The last chapter is the conclusion. |
