Adorno Mass Culture Theory Research

Adorno western mass culture theory is an important banner of Marxism theory. He thoroughly exposed the essence of capitalism on the basis of reflection on Enlightenment. He was opposed to popular culture that represents the will of the ruling class and praise modern art that can save mankind in order to achieve his vision of social salvation road.This paper starts with Adorno's Life background of the times and its theory resources , including Adorno's criticism of the capitalism society and popular culture as well as his culture with the establishment of new modern art world and the idea of achieving social salvation. In this paper, to take an objective evaluation methods, a comprehensive understanding and assessment of the Adorno theory of popular culture and modern art theory, it pointed out that the denial and rejection of popular culture demonstrated by the reasonableness of the factors, and explored the reasons for his pushing of modern culture that failed to become the mainstream culture. It is not only for the Adorno theory of popular culture to have a more comprehensive understanding, but also for the development of China's cultural industry to contribute their own part.
