This thesis is to pre-Qin prose writer Mencius and the region culture relations research. Inquire deeply Mencius and the region culture's relations, are very difficult to explain reasonably aspects and so on Mencius's prose, thought that personality display unique style. However, the related research actually relatively is since long weak. This article wants to base on the firsthand information, from the Qi and Lu region culture to its biography thought that the cultural experience's influence and so on many angles, discusses the region culture and writer's in-depth relations.This thesis consists of three major parts with altogether five chapters.Chapter One is written ahead of formal discussion about Mencius and Qilu culture so as to clean up several important issues: the relation between "Mencius" and Mencius, basic concepts of Qilu culture, Zoulu culture, and the outline of region Mencius studies from view point of regional culture. This chapter is the premise of the thesis. Part One of the thesis mainly discusses the relation between Mencius and Zou Lu culture, including Chapter One and Two.Chapter Two looks into the influence Zou Lu culture on the Mencius thought from Mencius's life. It mainly discusses the Mencius'family background and Zou Lu's origin relation, particularly with Lu's origin relation. Then it analyzes Mencius's major activity in Zou Lu area. The third section is the key part of this chapter, illuminating Zou Lu culture's influence on construction of Mencius's thought, including the influence of the folk culture that was represented by his mother, as well as the influence of the Confucius's thought.Chapter Three analyzes characteristic of the Lu culture shown in "Mencius" text. This chapter selected several points to carry on the elaboration: the Zou Lu culture in "Poem", and "Spring and Autumn Period" which was used by Mencius; Mencius's respect for Confucius; and the superiority of region culture expressed in "Mencius", which is a rare characteristic in other pre-Qin thinkers' works. The first and the third sections are the main elaboration contents.Part Two mainly discusses the relation between Mencius and Qi culture, consisting of Chapter Four and Chapter Five.Chapter Four analyzes the relation between Mencius's travel and the Qi cultural: the huge attraction of Qi culture to Mencius; Mencius main social activity in Qi; the reasons that Mencius cannot succeed in Qi under the two cultural conflicts from the aspect cultural difference. Chapter Five mainly analyzes the acceptance of Qi culture in "Mencius": analyzing the source of the acceptance of the Qi culture by Mencius; appearance of Qi society in "Mencius"; the process of "Mencius" accepting Qi culture from the aspect of language, the thought and so on.Part Three pursues the original influence of Qilu culture on "Mencius" by analyzing the concrete characteristics of "Mencius".Appendix is a run-through of the Mencius's studies form the 20th century to today. Since during this period of time there are vast related studies, involving in many aspects. Although I try to simplify it, it is still too long. So I make an appendix at the end of the article, partly in the hope of making the thesis slightly formal and partly in the hope of inspiring and helping the afterward Mencius researchers by saving massively time to look over the materials. If it works, I will feel it worth of my hard work.
