Through A Sense Of Multi-angle Three-dimensional Study

Synaesthesia is both an ancient and new phenomenon. It is ancient because of its existence in early literary works, though it was not well known at that time. Since the release of work on Synaethesia by Qian Zhongshu in 1962, with the depth of people's recognization and development of relating subjects, the roads of study on Synaesthesia are opened and extended, and the angles and directions are more and more refined. This thesis is pursing for the new perspecticve from old subject., aiming to analyze the reasons and mechanisms of Synaesthesia in systematism, then expose the rules of development of study on it.The thesis divides into five chapters.The first chapter is"Generality on Synaethesia". Firstly, the origination of Synaethesia is simply interpreted in use of both ancient Chinese books and the studise in foreign academic fields. Secondly, it introduces the conception of Synaesthesia. Lastly, it summarizes the research situation of it.The second chapter is"Synaethesia as the physiological phenomenon". Starting with the strange Synaethesia phenomena, the thesis considers that Synaethesia is one of human's true feelings and experiences, but not ideological thing. The study results of brain science tell us that different receptors wok together when external stimula happen to people. These receptors thansfer the holistic stimula into brain, then cerebral cortexs manoeuvre all kinds of analyzers to analyze and synthesize the different parts of stimula, thus form an intergrated and systemic motion process.The third chapter is"Synaethesia as the phychological phenomenon". Firstly, the thesis begins with the phychological term---the association sense, it thinks that Synaethesia is the combination of verious senses, going on premise of specialization of all the senses. The feeling of one stimulus is not only decided on the enginery state of this sensory which receives the stimulus, but also influenced by other sensories. Secondly, apart from the physiological reason, the appearance of Synaethesia is also the results of gethering of higher phychological facters, such as conciousness, imagination and feeling, that is the result of the deepened blend of physiological movements. Lastly, Synaethesia is transmission of cognitive domains. On basis of Conceptual metaphor, the thesis thinks that Synaethesia is refraction from this cognitive domain to that cognitive domain.The fourth chapter is"Synaethesia as the linguistic phenomenon". From the view of rhetoric, we can see that Synaethesia dipiction is a linguistic phenomenon in essence. At the same time, Synaethesia is one kind of linguistic unfamiliarization, used in literature, always brings about a feeling of freshness and novelty. As a kind of linguistic art, because of unique charming in meaning and emotion expression, it wins the good graces of prosers and poets. Used in poems and proses, this artistic skill can romance the mood of poems and proses, make artistic images more vivid and touching.The fifth chapter is conclusion. The versatility of Synaethesia is affirmed in this thesis, and richness and stereoscopic are as well. As a general angle, on the basis of neurophysiology and cognitive psychology, linguistic Synaethesia is actually a kind of language phenomenon.
