Abstract: Fuzzy form as one category of contemporary art is the opposite of clearness. Vague pattern transmits its tension by means of movement and fluctuation,by general appearances of the paintings which are mysterious obscure,implicit and full of meaningness. With the long history of the development in west oil paintings, fuzziness is ignorred by artists and audience.People including critics scarcely study its value.People usd to seeing clear patterns ,concretness is easily understoond.But it is truth that everything is relative.Fuzziness is always developping with clear drawing art.Vague pattern is opening,which presents a sort of vague beauty ,the uncertainty of its medium,mutual permeability, mutual mingling, mutual converting of the flowing cross-areas and intermediate areas, forming an uncertain state of fuzzy similarities and differences.Fuzzy pattern has attained an universal meaning and is becoming a relatively independent language form.In western painting,impressionistic drawings first began to show the chgaracteristics of vague pattern,whose development has experienced the transformation from impressionism to new impressionism,to contemporary painting. With the development of contemporay society,popular culture become one of three main cultures. With the strong influence of popular culture, concretness art is facing serious chanllenge for existence. Arts have to adjust to the markets actively, give up the main current position and elite consciousness and satisfy the public s appreciation of beauty. Only by doing so can art get out of the present dilemma.Fuzzy pattern with the characteristics of openness and beauty of mingling medium comply with the demond of contemporary culture.So it is essential for us to study the value of fuzziness .
