The sampling strategies have significant effects on the performance offigure recognition. 3-D figures can be seen frequently in our daily life, theircharacteristic are expressing 3-D figure in the form of 2-D. This study reviewed thedifference between simple 3-D figures and their real objects in the figure recognition. This study consisted of two experiments. The experimentâ… was aimed at thedifference between simple 3-D geometrical figures and their real objects. Theexperimentâ…¡was aimed at the difference between simple 3-D meaningful figures andtheir real objects. 8 subjects participated in the experiments. The experiment task wasto compare whether the two figures were same. Eyelink system was used to record theeyes movements of subjects, and we also used questionnaires and oral reporting. The main results of this study are as follows:â‘ The difference in display manner had an effect on the performance of figurerecognition. The response time in rotation condition was longer than that of inun-rotation condition. The figure recognition performance for 3-D geometrical figureswas better than that for 3-D real objects.â‘¡The first-sampling-point were mainly located at the critical features, such ascomer, outline parts, both for 3-D geometrical figures and for their real objects. Andthe first-sampling-point were located at the meaningful features both for 3-Dmeaningful figures and for their real objects. The time for differentfirst-sampling-point was nearly same.â‘¢The scan-paths and the sampling order for figures were not different from theirreal objects. Most fixations located at the critical features and meaningful features.â‘£The sampling orders were relative stable both for figures and their real objects. | | Keywords/Search Tags: | sampling strategies, first-sampling-position, scan-paths, sampling order | PDF Full Text Request | Related items |
