Laban Educational Dance Thought

Rudolf von Laban (1879-1958), The earliest ancestor of Modern Dance Theory .He was born in Bratislava at the end of the 19th century. At the beginning of the 20th century, he had suggested the concept of'Educational Dance'in his Educational Dance Ideology。Laban's Educational Dance Ideology was intend to develop the quality of people. So it is very important and valuable。To Expound Laban's Educational Dance Ideology can help to improve the condition of the Chinese educational dance. Certainly, it is the aim of this issue.There are four parts in this issue. The Ideologies of scholars always have much connected to their lives. In the Part one, author wants to introduce the life of Laban and how did his Educational Dance Ideology form. From Part two to Part four all are mainly parts of this issue. In part two, firstly, through the compare between'Educational Dance'and'Dance Education', the concept of Educational Dance was described. Secondly, the content of Laban's Educational Dance Ideology on the aim of Educational Dance, the function of Educational Dance,and the principles of the Educational Dance practice were expound. Much of the practice of Laban's Educational Dance Ideology was done by the follower. So something about the pioneers, the practice place and the change which brought by Laban's Educational Dance Ideology were introduced in Part three. In part four, how did Laban's Educational Dance Ideology take form was explored. In the last part, author has comment Laban's Educational Dance on its nature, historical position and insufficient. All of these were in order to let people have an objective cognizance of Laban's Educational Dance Ideology.
