Design management increasingly plays good effects on company development, design activity and design industry. Design education works for design practice. Design management has been on Chinese design college's curriculum. The progress of commercialism brings economics and management into design education, and design management has been on the back burner of many MBA courses, along with the postgraduate and doctor programme in Design Management in design college-these conditions are advantages to promote design undergraduates' design management course research. As a young discipline, there are some problems in design management education, including a poor understanding of design among business professionals, a lack of teachers, and teaching tools issues, which thwart academic momentum in this arena. This dissertation examines these problems and tries to improve them. Design management is new and interdisciplinary, so our understanding is growing all the time. It requires the instructor's knowledge must be interdisciplinary and constant updating. Design management is neither a painting skill course, nor a totally design theory course. So diverse teaching methods should be used. Specialist lecturers, case studies, academic texts, seminar provide students with an international perspective on managing design. Also, through the college's strongly established links with the design industry, guest speakers provide a beneficial insight into contemporary design management and practice. For most of the undergraduate who are pursuing design bachelor degree, they will start their job experience as a designer assistant, rather a design manager. Design education is designed to prepare students for careers in the "real word". So the knowledge of areas such as design process management, design within the organization, design project management and design communication should be focus on in Design Management course.
