Southern Song Min Scientist Prose Study

Ming school was an important academic faction which formed inthe South Song Dynasty.The scholars of Ming formed the special the theories and thecharacteristic style of the prose.Their prose theory have some certain commontrendencies: stressing that confucianist truth was first and prose second, attachingsmooth style of the prose, sometimes attaching great weight to powerful strokes.Thethesis analyzed the theories and the characteristic style of the articles written byHuang Gan, Zhen DeXou, Wei LiaoWeng. The thesis also analyzes how Mingschool influenced the spirit and characteristic style of the prose: the knowingtheory,which study the things and gain the knowledge, formed the spirit of theprose of loving the people and country; the cultivating theory, which show worshipand be afraid to Truth and paid attention to completing the ourselves morallevel,also brought out the spirit of the prose of highlighting the moral qualities;the membership,as scholars of Ming school make effect on the reason spirit of theirprose. The thesis also analyzes how Ming school influenced their prose artistic: thecultivating theory and the teaching way of Ming school brought out the easy, smoothstyle of the prose; the knowing theory,which study the things and gain theknowledge, influenced the theme and composite technique; with the emphasis onthe classic work of Confucianism, they was fond of cite the sentences from themand their prose embodied easy, smooth style. In the end, the article also pointed outthe statue and drawback of the prose of Ming school in Chinese literature history.
