The first sectionintroduces the main trend on studying Bai Xianyong and his works, as wellpresenting the proposition, content and meaning of the thesis. The mainbody analyses the body text of his works, the clue of his production andthe reasons forming his sentimental color. His works explore love, youth,live, death, culture, spirit, distorted emotion, dream and reality, whichshows light depression and strong sentimental color. The conclusionreveals the importance and the value of Bai Xianyong' novels. It alsopoints out the reasons why his works is full of sentimental color, whichcoming from his deep love to society, life and human beings.
