Huo Da is a Chinese contemporary women writer with characteristic style. Form her novels, we can find that tragedy governs her writings. So, from the aspect of tragedy aesthetics, according to her works, this dissertation analyses tragedy content and aesthetics style of Huo Da's fictions comprehensively and systematically.This thesis discusses the tragedy consciousness in Huo Da's novels from four aspects.Part 1 analyses the formation of Huo Da's tragic consciousness. One of the important reasons for it is her special experience and attitudes towards life. The other important reasons is her inheritance form Chinese and Western Culture, especially Shakespeare'humanism and LuXun's realism.Part 2 analyses the narrative strategies in Huo Da's tragic novels. With comparing analytical method, the chapter researches the tragic narrative strategies of novels by Huo Da from four aspects so as to make us grasp her inimitable tragic aesthetic modality more effectively.Part 3 studies tragic characters in Huo Da's novels. By the methods of social criticism,cultural criticism and literary criticism, and based on some theories about tragedy ,the chapter explores reasons for tragic characters so that readers can understand their abundant implication and unique charm.Part 4 reveals the connotation of tragic consciousness in her novels. In her tragic consciousness, life and man's value are the central problems. Huo Da pays more attention to life and the true meaning of death to delivery her eternal calls for nice lifestyle and the value of life.At present, though there is much study on Huo Da's writings in the groves of domestic academe, the dissertation is the first one that analyses Huo Da's creations from the perspective of tragic aesthetics. So, from beginning to end, there are full of discussions and innovations in this dissertation.
