On The Cultural Attributes Of The Painting Composition And Relevant Teaching

Painting is a kind of important presentation form of visual art. And composition is the most important factor of painting, generally refers to how the parts of the image relate to each other to create a whole. This includes the placement of objects on the picture plane, the relationship of these objects to each other, and how both of these components contribute to the expressive content of the image. It also includes how line, color, motion, proportion—everything that makes up the work of art—comes together to produce a coherent whole. So far, as a technique factor, composition is far more high-light than its any other parts. Although there are some articles about painting composition, the culture meaning that reflected from composition was little paid attention. Therefore, it is difficult to let the students thorough understand and highly valued it. especially the description of the culture characteristic in composition was lacked in now days painting teaching,This essay aims to analysis the important position of composition in modern art, the special presentation and the necessarily of composition studying and researching in contemporary painting educating system, to learn the double-effect of technique and non-technique in individual creation.There are 3 chapters: Chapter one is about the origin, definition of composition; the background and development of the composition theory in western and China. Then gives it a right position in culture quality. Chapter two is mainly to prove that the advantage of it as a specialty in conveying visual culture by the means of studying on the significances and functions of composition, that is, analysis its presentation in modern painting as well as its important position in modern west aesthetics. The third chapter focuses on how to develop the studying on composition from technique and none—technique sides. In the studying of composition culture intension hinting in its-time, nation, etc should be paid closed attention.A sample questionnaire is attached. It is about currently the college students' understanding on composition.The writer believes that it is a key element to build contemporary painting education system that reinforces the learning on painting composition or painting forms. Combining with the analysis on the composition of traditional great painter, basis on the elements of composition is not only the summary and inheriting of human visual experiment but also responses of visual culture statement in the late 20^th and the beginning of this century.
