It leaded the series novel about Sui and Tang dynasty, including historical novels and hero legends,to be a chivalrous novel. In the meantime,it divided the chivalrous novel into two parts, that is the fighting between justice and evil, the love between man and woman. After it appeared, PingHua, drama, film and other art forms began to perform the story of《green peony》continuously. The famous drama《The love between HongXun Luo and BiLian Hua》,《The village of four heroes》etc, have been performed up to now. But《,green peony》did not get the value it should have over a long period of time in research realm. Comparing with some scholars went deep into《Cases dealed with Shilun Shi》《,three swordsmen and five righteousnesses》, the research on《green peony》was infrequent .This paper tried its best to make an overall, thorough research on《green peony》. There was a preface before the text, and the text could be divided into three chapters.The preface stated three aspects: the values of research, present conditions of research and the methods of research, confirmed that《green peony》had an important position on novel history and culture history, reviewed the research process on《green peony》, announced the self-contradict phenomenon that《green peony》was important but be neglected, puted forward that we should study《green peony》with a science method, that was to combine the literary history investigation of the dynamic state and the literature characteristic investigation of the static state together.Chapter 1" the text analysis of《green peony》" was totally divided into three sections. section 1 statisticed the edition of《green peony》and introduced its contents in brief. In this process, this paper detected that《green peony》was a chivalrous novel appeared in Qianlong or JiaQing Age. This standpoint was different from the elder scholar's. Section 2 stated the idea of《green peony》. this paper thought that the novel not only reflected the social polity reality, quested for the ideal politics, but also reflected certain social economy reality, revealed the basic economic situation in late Qing dynasty, expressed the ideal for ethical relations, embodied the thought of character liberation in the capitalism sprouts period . In addition , there was antinomy thoughts in the novel. Section 3 stated the art achievement of《Green peony》. this paper thought that《Green peony》not only molded some different swordsmen images, returned to and rebuilded the original spirits of swordsmen, but also breaked the old mode and use a new mode, that was to combine the fighting between justice and evil, the love between man and woman together. It meant long chivalrous novels escaped from public issue novels and developed independently.《Green peony》paid attention to the text characteristic of novel and paid attention to describe fighting skills, fighting conditions. It also revealed that there was a trend from"strange" to "true" in the aspects of molding person image.Chapter 2" the transformation of novel - the position of《green peony》in novel history" was totally divided into three sections. In the meantime,《green peony》changed the tradition of chivalrous novels. Before《green peony》, chivalrous novels always not to talk about feeling or only had little speech about it. But《green peony》depicted more about the love between men and women , molded a female image that not only righteous, but also gentle.《Green peony》was a important link in the transfer that chivalrous novels came to be of two mode: the fighting between justice and evil, the love between man and woman.
