Contemporary Chinese Painting Charge Technique Performance

Over recent years, a large number of painting works depicting lotus have sprung up in traditional Chinese painting circle and at almost every large-scale painting exhibition in China. As can be made out, the lotus-subject paintings increase throughout the development of traditional Chinese painting and exhibits its uniqueness in both form and style.Although there are many studies and works concerning techniques of painting lotus, most of them either serve as introduction to lotus-painting in contemporary traditional Chinese painting or analyze only on the surface the techniques of the lotus-subject paintings of some artists.Theoretically based on previous literature, this paper makes a classification and an in-depth analysis of the techniques applied to contemporary Chinese lotus-paintings gathered especially from large-scale painting exhibitions in China since 2000.This research is divided into Four parts.Part One, as the introduction, expounds the reasons for choosing the subject and defines the crucial concepts. .This part also deals with literature review in this field, and the significance, the outline and the methodology of the present study.Part Two explores the histories of lotus and lotus-painting in traditional Chinese painting, discuss the origins of different lotus species and the history of planting lotus. Meanwhile state the evolution of techniques of drawing lotus in Chinese painting.Part Three explores the relationship between contemporary lotus species and the techniques of painting lotus. This part classifies and analyzes the techniques of contemporary Chinese lotus-painting by adapting various methods like image segmentation, bibliometric method and comparative approach. analysis techniques of drawing lotus in Chinese painting under the effects of contemporary Chinese lotus species.Part Four investigates the relationship between contemporary painting medium and the techniques of contemporary Chinese lotus-paintings. discuss the impotence of contemporary painting materials in drawing lotus.The conclusions of this paper are: the contemporary works of drawing lotus has developed on the base of traditional way. And most of these works is full of the times feature. I am anticipating that this paper, through the following discussion, could make clear history position of Chinese painting, and has some sense in techniques of drawing lotus in Chinese painting.
